DEPRAG calibration and realignment
DEPRAG offers a professional calibration service for measuring technology and adjustment for screwdriving technology. We use precise measuring procedures to ensure that your tightening tools and measuring devices work reliably and in accordance with standards - regardless of the manufacturer.
Calibration is defined as the establishment and recording of deviations from accurate values by measurement tool readings under predetermined conditions (Dakks-DKD-4).
Calibration service for DEPRAG torque transducers
- DAkkS and factory calibrations are carried out in the accredited calibration laboratory according to validated procedures.
- The results are documented in the calibration certificate with all measured values and measurement uncertainties.
- The choice of method depends on the load direction, number of installation positions and measurement uncertainty.
- DAkkS calibration is only available for strain gauge transducers.
- Transducers are calibrated using strain gauge and piezo technology in accordance with DIN 51309 or VDI/VDE 2646.
- By default, 8 torque levels between 10 % - 100 % of the measurement range are calibrated.
- Calibration devices cover a torque range of 0.01 Nm - 500 Nm.
- All DEPRAG transducers are calibrated ex works in the standard measurement range, calibration for deviating measurement ranges is possible on request.
Calibration service for torque transducers from other manufacturers
- All calibration procedures mentioned are available for third-party manufacturers
- For verification of suitability and determination of the appropriate method, information is required on the technical design of the transducer, the operating conditions and the required measurement uncertainty.
- DEPRAG carries out measurement system analyses in the DAkkS-accredited calibration laboratory (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025).
- The analysis tests the capability of a measurement system consisting of a torque transducer and measuring electronics.
- The result confirms the suitability of the system for a specific application based on the determined capability parameters.
- The measurement system analysis is carried out for the specified test torque.
- All components of the measurement chain are calibrated separately.
- Measurement devices for piezo transducers are tested with a charge calibration device.
- Measurement devices for strain gauge transducers are subjected to a comparative measurement with a strain gauge calibrator.

Factory calibration of measuring devices / measuring electronics
- The Measurement devices are tested for functionality.
- The calibration value for the measurement cell is determined.

- Calibration is carried out in accordance with the current standards, in particular DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.
The quality of screw joints is significantly influenced by the accuracy of the screwdrivers and measuring devices used. Precise tools are crucial in order to avoid production problems that could lead to claims for damages. This is particularly important in safety-relevant areas, such as the automotive industry. One example: A mid-range car contains around twelve kilograms of screws, 15 percent of which are classified as safety-relevant. Failure of such screws can lead to accidents and endanger human lives. This is why DIN EN ISO 9001 stipulates regular verification and calibration of measuring devices to ensure their function and stability.
With mobile calibration, our specialist staff come directly to the customer to carry out calibrations on site. We use a special calibration van with all the necessary measuring equipment. Mobile calibration is carried out in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9001 standard without disrupting the ongoing production process. The main advantage is that calibration is carried out directly during ongoing production, which ensures continuous quality assurance.
The mobile calibration service offers many advantages, in particular very short downtimes for production tools and measuring devices. Customers no longer have to send in their devices, which eliminates packaging, transportation costs and logistical effort. In addition, no loaner devices or replacement systems are required, which makes the process considerably simpler and more cost-efficient for companies.
If measurement devices are used in the ongoing assembly process, it will certainly make more sense to set a shorter calibration interval than if the measuring devices are only used in the laboratory at longer intervals. For example, test cycles of between 3 months and 3 years may be appropriate. Regardless of the industry, applicable guidelines, such as IATF 16949, require regular verification of the tightening tools used in production in order to ensure machine capability.
Verification and realignment of screwdriving systems
- When realigning screwdriving systems, the adjustment value is determined or verified and documented in the factory certificate.
- The realignment value is stored in the screwdriver or controller.
- Individual components and fastening system (consisting of an EC servo screwdriver or EC screwdriver and associated sequence controller) can be realigned.
- The realignment for entire screwdriving systems always applies to the given combination of screwdriver and controller.
Maintenance with verification and realignment
- Regular maintenance ensures maximum productivity and a long product service life.
- Maintenance with testing and adjustment by our screwdrivers includes determining the current condition, disassembling and testing all mechanically stressed parts, cleaning and relubricating the gearbox and reassembling it, as well as verification of the smooth running of the motor and gearbox.
- Maintenance with verification and realignment of the sequence controllers includes determining the current status, replacing the filter, cleaning (outside and inside) and a software update.
